Hi All, I need a little help from my friends My lovely boy has decided he is going to thoroughly embarrass :-[me by peeing (marking) in my boss' house!! I have no idea why he would suddenly start doing this (I am not amused). They do have a 3 year old king charles bitch, who is completely docile and both dogs get on well together, (Rosie does the flirting and Baz does the ignoring!). I would be grateful for any tips you may have as to why he is doing it and what I can do to stop it, short of banishing him from the house and leaving him at home, that would be a real shame. Thanks, Liane

Hi liane You could try swapping dog beds so you take the other dogs bed home with you and put baz bed in the other house. It just gets there scent in each others house then it becomes more familiar. Also try a DAP collar that can some times help. It may stop on its own as there maybe another reason ie bitch in season nearby. Good luck Jeff

Hi Liane I had a friends dog to stay for a week in the summer, he had been to my house before but when he came this time the first thing he did was lift his leg on my brand new sofa! Luckily his owner and I are good friends! Anyway after the first day when I followed him round with a cloth and anti bacterial spray he stopped doing it and all was well! Baz is just trying to impress his new lady friend! Goodluck Belinda

Thanks Jeff and Belinda, Rosie has been to mine and snuggled up on his bed, I will certainly take his bed to their house next week. Will definitly get him a DAP collar to try, as I can use this on firework night, and he is that kind of dog, a bit of a wuss and likes to feel secure. I will also go around on hands and knees with antibacterial spray, I need to mask the scent of where he has already 'marked'. Here's hoping it is just a short phase. Liane

I think i know the dog Belinda is talking about. If you use anti bac spray it can sometimes cause the dog to scent more due to the ammonia in the spray. This usually happens with dogs that are scenting due to feeling insecure. I think the dog Belinda is talking about was more Territorial marking this is slightly different so anti bac is usually ok. The best thing to use is non bio washing powder. good luck
