I have been using AVG free for several years over 3 versions. I had been using version 8.5 recently with no problems until a few months ago when I found that scans failed to complete and the computer turned off whilst in progress. This happened either with the computer left alone to scan, or if it was actively in use while a scan was in progress. Upon restarting there were no error messages generated by Windows to suggest it was a crash, just a normal turn off - the computer turned back on as normal. The AVG Scan Log reports "The scan log is corrupted (scan has not finished properly)". Having been unable to stop this happening I have today uninstalled Version 8.5 and installed AVG Version 9. I have just run a scan and the same thing has happened again, so this has not cured it. Any idea? Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
