I have inherited a Dimension C531, running XP Pro which is running erratically following various virus, malware problems.
I decided to do a System restore using the symantec restore system. As instructed I pressed CTR+F11 and the restore started. The warning page appeared and required input from Key board but the keyboard and mouse were not working. I checked \BIOS to ensure USB was activated, tried again same result, the keyboard and mouse work up to the point that the first screen of the restore appears when both switch off. Checking on this site indicates that only 1 USB port is active during boot etc but this is not the case here.
Any idea?
